BC4 no longer working with git after update

After the latest update (Jan 6 2015) I can no longer use BC as a git diff/merge tool.
I have not changed anything about my git config (which was previouly working with the bc3 command as outlined in the knowledge base). What happens is that now it just returns to the prompt after about 400ms, no window open or anything.

I have tried using the solution on this thread, but it didn't work for me:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Thanks. I just grabbed from git's current release, and then also grabbed the latest from Github, but did not see an issue using 'git difftool' as a command. If you follow the updated commands from here (using 'bc3' even with bc4) how does this work?

If you run git --version from the command line, which version number is returned?

      Try rebooting

I had to reboot after the install for it to work properly and avoid the same symptoms you see. During logout it said that bcompare was still running but unresponsive. (Ubuntu 12.04)

Since the update, this is back working again. I'm not sure what changed or if something might not have installed correctly or what, but I can report that all is now well again.
