$XDG_CONFIG_HOME is a Linux standard. We don't have any plans to support it on other platforms.

It is possible to configure where BC for Windows stores its settings files with a registry key, but the settings files are not designed to be cross platform. None of your sessions will work: the paths will have to be different, and the path delimiters ('\' vs '/') are different, which BC for Windows handles automatically, but BC for Linux does not. We also ship different file formats for the two platforms, and file formats for the "wrong" platform will be stripped out automatically.

If you still want to do it, you can create a string value named "SettingsPath" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software". The most compatible way would probably be to have them sync to different locations, and modify BC for Linux's launcher script to copy the subset of the settings files that you need between the two locations.
