      Hey all,

Kaleidoscope has a public beta for their upcoming version featuring folder compare support:
      http://www.kaleidoscopeapp.com/beta

Beyond Compare still rules Windows, but as long as there's a void to be filled in OS X it's good to see another contender stepping in.

Has anybody used Kaleidoscope yet? Care to offer some thoughts?

I downloaded the beta for a play. It's pretty basic, very limited compared to BC3.

Folder comparison is pretty useless IMO as you have to open a new comparison tab for each sub-folder - there is no automatic recursion through the directories.

Roll on BC3 for OS X... I've only been waiting 6 years or so ;-)

It works fine and ... finally BC for MAC!

Wow, looking great! Christmas comes early this year! Please allow me to bombard you with the questions I'm sure we all have... Will there be a public or private alpha/beta? Any ETA on that? Will it be a free or a paid upgrade for current licence owners?

Thanks guys, this is awesome news!

The Mac version will be released as a platform for Beyond Compare 4 (in addition to Windows and Linux). This means you will need a new license key for it.

Pricing will be the same, with the current dual platform license becoming an all platform license.

If you have a BC3 license, our standard upgrade policy will apply. This means if BC4 is released within 1 year of your BC3 purchase, it is a free upgrade. If it is more than 1 year after your license purchase, the new license is half price.

We already have a small group of private alpha testers picked out, we anticipate contacting them by email soon.

Super exciting! Beyond Compare is one of my all-time favorite tools. It blows away the competition. Can't wait to use a native version on OS X instead of via a VM or CrossOver.

Thanks for the screenshot and update! I'm really looking forward to the release of BC4 ... especially for the Mac support!

                            Most anticipated software of 2013

                            Scooter guys,

Based on the screenshot posted a while back, it looked like you were getting close. Any hints on a release date (or even a beta)?

Love BC, can't wait to buy it for Mac!!

                                Perfect Timing

Timing for the release on OSX couldn't be better as folks like me abandon Windows (8) and migrate to the Mac.
