Plugin suggestion: Registry Compare

Hi - I am always spending a lot of time checking that an installation was done correctly - ie that the com components were correctly registered and so on.

It would be neat to have a plugin that allowed me to compare:
- Two live registries
- A .reg file and A live registry
- Two .reg files (duh - that can be done today :))

Just thought I'd post the suggestion in case someone already been there, done that.

Registry comparison is on the wishlist. We have done some preliminary work, but I can't say when we'd have something ready for release.

As soon as you will have a beta version, I could test it :cool:

I wrote a clumsy Reg/Reg Dir/Dir Reg/Reg Snapshot Dir/Dir Snapshot application just for installation testing years ago.

While I think the plug in is very useful, for testing purposes, I think a Reg Spy (possibly writing to a log) is a better tool. The hooks are already in Windows and it would be not only faster, but less suseptable to mixing up "before" snapshots, etc.
