Keeping Permissions

Is there any way to move the changes from one file to another (i.e text changes)? I'm asking because i noticed with a file copy the permissions on the original file are overwritten. I was looking through the documentation but i didnt see a way to move individual line changes.

BC3's scripting does not support copying individual lines within files.

Beyond Compare 3's copy method should perform the same as a standard Windows copy using Explorer. If you copy a test file in the graphical interface of BC3 and Explorer, do you see the same permission behavior? Which permissions are you currently losing?
