BC v2.1.2 (build 216)

When I use mirror, orphaned folders in the destination do not get deleted, just the files in them. I am ending up with orphaned folders all over the place.

Is there a setting that fixes this?

Thanks,

Wayne

I believe that you can control what gets deleted by doing a "custom synch." Under the Actions menu, pull down to Synchronize Folders and select Custom Synch. In there, you can specify whether or not you want to create empty folders, and you can specify the kind of synch you want in the drop down menu.

I hope this helps!

Lynn :)

Custom Sync has a "Create Empty Folders", but this setting does not cause orphaned folders to be deleted. Is there a way to delete orphaned folders?

Thanks,

Make sure that you have the "Only affect visible files" option unchecked. The following settings should make two directories completely equal, including delete empty folders:

[ ] Just Selection
[x] Create empty folders
[ ]

Type of sync: Mirror Left to Right

Ok, That worked. Thanks. I had "Only affect visible files" checked before.

My question now is: Why do folder differences involving empty folders not show up as visible after a compare?

Thanks,

Wayne

If they're empty folders they will be hidden as a side effect of the comparison filtering. To show them again you'll need to use the "Always Show Folders" option in the "View" menu.

I wish to view ALL differences (and only differences, including empty orphaned folders) after a compare. Is there a way to do this?

(If not currently supported, I wish to submit this please, as a feature request.)

Thanks,

Wayne

Select Display Filters from the View menu. From there you can select exactly what you want to see. If you only want to see Differences, select Only Mismatches.

Hope this helps!

>I want to view ALL differences
> (and only differences, including empty orphaned folders)

>>"select Only Mismatches"

This does not work. Orphaned empty folders do not show up...try it.

Thanks,

Wayne

The only way to display empty folders, orphaned or not, right now is to use the "Always Show Empty Folders" option. Adding a different setting to better handle empty orphans is on the todo list.
