Hi,
using Beyond Compare for several years I'm very satisfied with the program but I do miss the function of being able to open a selection of files in a result page with a certain program.
In my case I would like to open several .mp3-files which have the same name but which were found to be non-identical in a 3rd party program (mp3tag) to further analyse these files.
I haven't found any possibility to realise that.
Any hints or plans to add such a feature?
Thank you
Craig

The Options dialog has an "Open With" section where you can configure external applications. After you add one it will appear as a command in the Folder Compare's context menu and Actions menu in an "Open With" submenu, and in the various file compare's context menus and File menu.

thank you, Craig :)
I tried that in a plentitude of ways (running BC3 as admin), but ran in 2 problems (in Vista):
- Variable %f does not seem to parse the whole filename if it contains spaces, as trying to parse a file named
"..\path\Temptations - Who Are You - 15.mp3"
returns the error, that file
"..\path\Temptations"
does not exist. ("accepts folders & files" checked)
- If more than 1 file is highlighted in BC3 the option "Open with mp3tag" is only displayed if I also check "Multiple instances", which would lead in opening many instances of mp3tag, although I'd like to open all highlighted files of both folders in only one instance of mp3tag.
As I'm able to parse files into mp3tag with other programs, the parsing error seems to originate in eiher BC3 or my way using it.
Any hints?

1. Enclose %f with quotes ("%f")
2. To open multiple selection (not instances) in one instance of another program is already on the wishlist (I hope it still is and not expired). I suggested this on 05-Jun-2008 (http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=12903&postcount=16) (first appearance was 17-Mar-2006 (http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=7961&postcount=3) for BC2).
At this time this is only possible by using programs that allow only one instance (i. e. Ultra Edit by setting).
EDIT:
I installed MP3Tag now and it works sometimes, but not reliable with this BC3-Open With:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mp3tag\Mp3tag.exe" /fn:"%f"
Accept files & Multiple instances checked, other options empty.
