I've returned to a RH 5.4 64-bit machine I had setup a year ago. At that time, I have installed BC 3.1.4 using the install script included in the tar file. I never got it running due to the shared library issues with 64-bit installs.
Today, I've returned to the same machine, updated RH to 5.5 and worked on getting BC3 working again.
I've been able to remove 3.1.4 and install 3.1.11. However, every time I start BC, the GUI still shows in the menu bar "New version available ...".
I've uninstalled, reinstalled 3.1.11 several times. I even installed, uninstalled 3.2 Beta several times. For all these installs, it continues to think it is verion 3.1.4 and says a newer version is available.
With the 3.2 Beta installed, I had it download the update for 3.1.11, and when the update tried to run it said a newer version was already installed.
So, where did the 3.1.4 version place the version information such that later installs seem to still think they are 3.1.4?
If I go to Help, About, it too shows Version 3.1.4 (build 10554).
This is not a licensed version, still just an eval install until I know I can get it working correctly.
Thanks.
