How to restore default settings?

Hi all,

How can I restore BC2 back to it's original color scheme? Mine got messed up a few days ago without any obvious explanation.

Hello,

BC2 stores its color settings in the Registry. First, shut down BC2 and back up your entire registry. Then, if you delete the HKey_Current_User\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\FileViewer folder, you will revert the visibility options such as colors and toolbars for the file viewer. If you delete the FolderViewer folder, then it will revert the Folder viewer colors.

In BC3, we added a Factory Defaults button to help with situations like this. You can install the BC3 trial without uninstalling or altering BC2. You can then trial BC3 side by side with your BC2 setup.
