Slow file copy

Pro Edition for Windows

I am getting terrible performance when copying files (less than 15 MB total) using bc3 from a local drive to a network drive after a compare. Copying 4 files took me 2 minutes, 21 seconds. Local drive to Local drive works fine.

I was able to manually copy and paste the 4 files in windows explorer and it completed within seconds.

I installed Beyond Compare 2.5.3 (build 253) and it is able to copy the files quickly.

Any ideas?

The copies that went quickly were done after copying with BC3. If you then recopy with BC3 is it still slow? It is possible after the first copy the files were cached, and that all copies after that would go quickly. As a test, copy with BC3 (slow), then copy with BC2 (fast) and My Computer (fast) and then immediately retry with BC3 (?).

You can have BC3 and BC2 installed on the same machine at the same time, for easy testing between versions and My Computer.

I went to run the tests in the order you specified and I can no longer reproduce the slow copying.
