How to download from a ftp site only once?

Is it possible to add an option so that if a download from a ftp site failes it is not tried again? On my system I start a download, then B.C.3 reconnects without an error, it downloads the same file again and then it gives up with a time out error message. The file that has been downloaded is ok, for example I can test a .zip file, only my system cannot complete the operation correctly. It is NOT a B.C.3 bug, it is a problem of my system. But, at least, if I could download the file only once I could save time.

Hi Rodolfo,

We do not currently have a way to limit a retries like that. Instead, perhaps we could troubleshoot why it is detecting as a failure, so BC then doesn't try to retry. Do other FTP clients (such as Filezilla) have similar issues of failing after a transfer? Would you be able to email your log to support@scootersoftware.com ?

Yes, I have the same problem with other software. The only one that seems to work is GetRight. The problem is related to the workload. If I download a file using a slow line there is the problem, if I download the same file using a fast line it is ok. When I have the problem, if I download a .zip file, if I stop operations after B.C.3 has downloaded it the first time, the .zip file is ok. So the problem seems to be not in the download part, but in closing the download operation.

Hi Rodolfo,

Try the new release (3.0.14). I added support for resume on upload/download and there's some keepalive support to keep the control connection open, so it should handle flaky connections better.
