View Full Version : Bug: Beyond Compare 3 Fails to Detect DOS/OEM Code Page

We have some older files we are maintaining and they are coded in the old DOS/OEM code page, which includes some line drawing characters and international symbols (e.g., accented letters).

Beyond Compare fails to detect the proper code page, though it will display the right stuff if manually set to DOS/OEM. Instead, it shows a red X and a "File Encoding Error", as illustrated here:

Encoding (in this case for .BAS files) is set to "Detect".

Click the toolbar button to the right of the icon to edit the file format and change the "Encoding" section on the "Conversion" tab from "Detect" to "DOS/OEM". We uses Internet Explorer's codepage autodetection, so we can't improve it.
