I just got around to upgrading from build 449 to 452 on MEPIS 7, using the .deb.

I've only done a little testing, but have found no new issues yet.

One question: After importing the settings from Cirrus, the following files in ~/.beyondcompare are no longer needed and can be deleted:

Cirrus
Cirrus_startup.sh
Cirrus.sh
context_menu/
libqtc.so.1
Preferences.xml
Sessions.xml
State.xml

Is that correct?

As far as I figured out (using the *.rpm in openSuSE 10.3) you can delete anything there, but not the *.xml files. These are the personal settings for each user. They can persist in the corresponding home directory.

Correct me If I'm wrong ...

After installing 452 and importing the Cirrus settings, the files I posted above were unmodified, but the following files (in ~/.beyondcompare) were added or modified:

BCCommands.xml
BCPreferences.xml
BCSessions.xml
BCState.xml
IsPro
registry.dat

So I assume that the old .xml files are no longer needed.

You are right! I had forgotten, that the XML-Files got new names.

Cirrus
Cirrus_startup.sh
Cirrus.sh
context_menu/
libqtc.so.1
Preferences.xml
Sessions.xml
State.xml
Yes, these files/folders are now obsolete (libqtc.so.1 is the same but it is in a new location), BC3's xml files are all prefixed with "BC."

The rest of the files have been moved to /usr/bin/bcompare and /usr/lib/beyondcompare, if you used the rpm or deb. Of course the tarball installer let's you specify the install directory.
