This may need to go on the wishlist.

When synchronizing files between a desktop and laptop, using a mapped network drive, I run BC as root because some of the directories/files are only accessible by root, while others are accessible by my normal user account.

When I copy a file over an existing file, the owner:group of the existing file is retained, which is correct. But if I copy a file that has to be created on the destination, the owner:group is root:root, even if the destination directory is my normal user's home directory.

I'd like to be able to specify that when creating files in certain directories, the file's owner:group should be something other than root:root.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've put it on the wishlist for the time being. It's unlikely this feature will be implemented in time for 3.0 though.
