(this is regarding 2.4.3)

If I set my Regional & Language Options, Advanced tab, Language for non-Unicode programs to Chinese (PRC) then BC can read chinese filenames but not:

òtD?μ?3á°ò-??é?o-.ove
¥d1A¥_¤a.ove
ì??′ - 07.susan?μ.mp3
Ola Podrida?Ola Podrida?.rar
[??ìù?§?Y]@°?òú1a?ê2.torrent
25 Skills Every Man Should Know Your Ultimate DIY Guide - Page1 -? MSN Lifestyle Men.mht
PM Podcast 2006_06_24 - PRINCE2?, PM.mp3

This is when I do Compare Contents: Binary. The gray folders mean ok. The white folders mean something is wrong (which I find out is the filename dilemma).

If I change back to English then it CAN read those 7 above filenames... but then I get ?????? for the chinese filenames. Total dilemma.

BC2 does not support unicode file names:
http://www.scootersoftware.com/support.php?c=kb_unicodeandcharactersets.php

We have added this support in BC3, which is currently available as a public beta. If you are interested in beta testing our software, you can download it here:
