Alpha/Transparency in Images

Hello
I'm working on image decompressors and I'm wondering how to compare two images' alpha/transparency channels, namely two PNGs. I couldn't work out how to switch this on in Beyond Compare and a brief search here hasn't brought anything up - can anyone help?

Sorry, the Picture Viewer doesn't support comparison of alpha channels at this time. We'll consider it for the future.
