After comparing 2 folders I need to move selected files from each pane to different folders. That is, move say 4 files from the left pane to folder a and 4 from the right to folder b. I am working with very large files, so a copy takes far too long.

Is there any way to do this? A 'move to folder' option would be great but I guess this is not on the roadmap. I'm not sure if a script would work as I am not moving everything from the selected folders.

Can anyone help?

A "Move to Folder" command is on our wish list, but it isn't possible in the current version of BC.

Right now, the only way to move files or folders inside BC is using the Actions|Move Command. To move to a different destination, you'll have to change the base folder on one side.

Hi,
I also vote for this feature. It makes a lot of sense!

If a copy takes too long, but a move would be faster -- your folders a and b must be on the same drive as the files you want to move -- a move to a different drive would take just as long as a copy.

It doesn't look like the right-click rename will let you "move" by renaming the file to a different directory ;-}

Have a look at Moving files across directories (http://www.scootersoftware.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=4822&an=0&page=0#Post4822)!

Another Vote for move to folder

Especially a script command MOVETO which should
work exactly the same as COPYTO

I have got so many COPYTO commands followed by DELETE Commands in my scripts, so a MOVETO command
would be a real bless.

Actually its the only feature i do miss so far

This is something we would like to do. It is still on our wishlist as a potential future project. Thanks for sharing your opinion and letting us know how you would like to use our product.
