I've been using Beyond Compare for many years, and it truely is a wonderful product. However I have finally found a situation that I can't seem to get round.

I need to automatically touch files with the current date and time when they are copied using beyond compare. I can't find an option to do this and I was wondering if it is possible with somekind of script or macro.

Or even better, if this could be included as an option in future builds. :)

Beyond Compare will always try to preserve timestamps on copy, there isn't a way to avoid this in the current version.

If you use a script for your copy/sync, it is possible to use the scripting "touch" command to set timestamps to the current system time after you copy the files.

I would like this feature as well. I am trying to use BC to copy a network mounted source code tree into a local working directory for building. I need to touch files as I update them in the working directory so that incremental build dependencies work correctly. I would prefer not to use use a script because the source tree has about 30K files in it and there's a huge performance advantage to using a long running BC session that monitors file updates in the background. It seems like touch on copy would be any easy feature....

Thanks for the reminder. We'll consider this for the future, but it still isn't a supported feature in Beyond Compare 2.5.2.
