hi all!

i think this program is exactly what i need to synchronize several folders with my desktop, laptop, and USB drive...

i installed the latest build (241) on both my desktop and laptop computers (windows xpsp2 home edition on both)... while installing on the desktop i chose Simple and on the laptop i chose Typical at the first run of the program... i notice the layout is slightly different and i think Typical is the one for me... however... i cannot find anywhere to change the layout...

i even went so far as to uninstall on the desktop and then install again in hopes it would ask me again, but it didn't... i know i must be missing something incredibly easy... how do i switch between the layouts?

thanks in advance!

You may have to delete the BC2 configuration information, typically installed in your user profile, which varies depending on your OS. For Windows 2000 and later, this is usually something like "C:\Document and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare".

The setting that controls whether the "Configuration Wizard" runs is stored in the Registry. If you are comfortable editing the Registry, run regedit and delete this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\Settings\ConfigMode
Then, the next time you run BC it will let you change the layout.

You can also change the layout by individually configuring the toolbars and other settings, but editing the Registry is quicker. Sorry that we don't have a simple Layout setting outside of the Configuration Wizard.

great, that worked :) might be a good feature to add in future revisions (hint hint)... the program is working perfectly for me, otherwise... thanks!
