Hi,

I'm trying out the software and looking to sync files between my desktop and laptop. I created a folder called 'sync' on both PCs and put all the folders, now sub-folders, that I wanted synced in it. I initially copied all the files between PCs and am now looking to sync changes. However when I try and sync I get a bunch of error messages along the lines of the following. 'Error creating - description of the destination location - access is denied. I've changed the properties of the folders to allow sharing, and have even tried sharing the entire hard drive, however I still get the same message.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

/Doug

The Access Denied message usually means a problem with share permissions or file permissions.

Can you copy the same files using Windows Explorer? If not, it probably means you don't have read or write access to the files. Giving full control for both share permissions and file permissions should solve the problem.

The method to do this depends on what version of Windows you're using.

Here are two good articles that might help you with configuring the network shares:

Windows XP Home (Simple File Sharing):

Windows XP Professional:

XP Professional can also use the Simple/XP home method depending on how it is configured.
