Plug-ins and Rules

I just installed BC2.4.1, added all available plug-ins and imported all available rules (site license). When I followed the directions in Help for installing plug-ins, I created a new rule for the plug-in but I never see the new rule for the plug-in in the "Pick Rules" list but it shows in the "Tools | Options | Rules" list box. Will the rule still work if I can't see it to choose it? :confused:

Have you downloaded each plug-in separately? There is a "almost-all-in-one-bundle" at the plug-in download-page:

It is an installer which makes all neccesary settings for BC automatically.

And, you are right, the plug-in-rules cannot be selected directly from the file-viewer. To change this behavior is already on the wishlist for BC for ages! :(

But the rules for the "invisible" plug-ins usually work. ;)

"Pick Rules" only lists rules for the File Viewer. The other plug-ins are separate from the File Viewer, that is why they don't list there.

If you add a rule for the Hex Viewer and associate it with a file extension, it will open files in the Hex Viewer plug-in from the shell extension or from Beyond Compare's Folder Viewer.
