Does a plug-in simply provide for converting a file to a format that BC can compare? Or, can it also provide the capability to access resources that can't be mounted as a drive letter?
Specifically, I'd like access to the filesystem of a Windows Mobile Device.

The current plug-in system won't allow you to add support for comparison of a Windows Mobile Device. Support for file system plug-ins is on our wish list for the future.

If I could figure out a way to mount a mobile device as a drive letter, then BC would work. That looks like the best short-term solution.
Does anyone know whether a shell namespace extension could be programmed to have a drive letter?

Based on my research so far, a shell namespace extension cannot be mounted as a drive letter.
Result: I'm working on an FTP server that will work with Pocket PC and Windows Smartphone to allow file sync using BC.
