QUERY: Excel files compare?

Hi, just want to say that I love Beyond Compare and use it all the time.

Just wondering whether it's possible to create a plug-in to compare MS Excel files?

There are additional rules available for download (http://www.scootersoftware.com/download.php?c=kb_morerules), one of which exports Excel data files to text files for comparison, which, of course, requires you to have Excel installed.

The other option for Excel files is to save them as .csv files from Excel, then compare the .csv files in the Data Viewer plug-in (http://www.scootersoftware.com/download.php?c=dataview).
