I am having trouble understanding the DataViewer Plugin. I have a 1462 byte record with 159 columns. The record and columns are all fixed length. But I can see no way to specify the different column widths.

To setup the files in the Data Viewer:

Open the files in the Data Viewer.

For the Configure Left File dialog, go to the Fixed Column Fields tab.
Enter 1462 as the longest line.
Enter 159 as the number of fields.
As you increase the number of fields, it will add 1 character wide columns to the rightmost end of the preview display. Left click and drag the vertical column lines to specify the columns.

Repeat the above steps for the right side file.

Is there any way to put a ruler in the preview screen to show character postion so that we can know we are position 243?

Is there any way to add a field sperator by just clicking at that position?

Both of these aren't available in the current Data Viewer, but they are great ideas so I will add them to our wish list for a future release.
