Hi,
Firstly, Beyond Compare is the most professional and *BEST* comparision tool in the world. Thanks a lot!

I use Clear Case for version control of the source files.
Going through the help links in the websites helped me integrate BC with ClearCase as the default comparision tool.
Now, whenever the BC is used to compare a source code file (Example: .c file) between two versions, then the comparision rules default to "Everything Else", the rules applied to a .c file is not selected automatically. How do i prevent this.
Could you please help?
Thanks!

Hi Prasad!

I guess you have a self-created rule for *.c files since there is nothing like this among the 'Miscellaneous Downloads' at the Scootersoftware homepage, right?

There are two important things:
- Do you have entered the wildcard for the filetype correctly? Example: *.c
- Is the order in the rules overview logically correct? Do not define for example *.c under *.* !
I remember that BC marks a line red when the the order contradicts ...

Does the rule selection work, when you compare two *.c files from the windows explorer via context-menu?

For further diagnostics you should post your exported rule-sets (in the 'Extras' menu, and then 'Export settings' -> rules).

Bye
