Hi,

I downloaded beyond compare. Looks great but, when I try to install the word plugin, it asks me to :

Run Beyond Compare and from the "Tools" menu select "Import Settings...".

3) In "Select import file", enter the name of the rules file:
C:\Program Files\Beyond Compare 2\MSWord\MSWord.xml

but I do not see the menu tools, import settings... :-(

Have you registered? I don't believe plugins will work unless you pay the (very reasonable) license fee and get a key to unlock BC's extra features.

Hi!

Well, it is not an original file-viewer plug-in but a converting-tool when opening DOC-files in a rules-based session. AFAIK you need not to register to use it.

The menu-entry you are looking for is in the 'Extras' menu. Important: Start Beyond Compare from the Windows-start-menu without any files or by comparing two directories. Else you won't see these entries ...

Bye

Import Settings can be found under the Tools menu in the Folder Viewer.

Add-on Rules, like MSWord, can be imported and exported so that users can share File Viewer Rules. You can use them even if you haven't registered yet.
