1.While in a Text Compare session, choose Session | Session Settings to open the Session Settings dialog.
2.Click the Format page.
3.Choose a setting from the Left file format and Right file format dropdown lists. The default selection is Detected, which means the file format will be selected based on file masks.
4.Select Same as left file format to use the left file format for the right file.
5.Choose a setting from the Left encoding override and Right encoding override dropdown lists to allow this session to override the character encoding to be used for each file, normally controlled by the selected file format.
6.The default is None, which means the file format's encoding choice will be used.
