Error 1009 - The Configuration Registry Database is Corrupt
BC version 2 only
On systems running Windows NT 4, Beyond Compare can display the error message "Error 1009, The configuration registry database is corrupt". When Beyond Compare starts up, it reads a value from the registry to determine how to sort strings. This setting is based on your regional settings. On some Windows NT4 systems, this string isn't present so Beyond Compare fails on startup.
The solution is to create the following registry key and leave it at the default value:
HKCU/Control Panel/International/Sorting Order
