• NTFS file system, BC version 2.4.2 and later:  32767 characters.
• NTFS file system, BC version 2.4.1 or lower:  260 characters.
• Fat32 file system, BC all versions:  260 characters.

Tar archive files

The maximum path length supported in tar archives is 100 characters.
