What is a "Beta"?  A beta version of software is a test version.  It allows users to try out new functionality and help guide the design of the program.  It provides us a means for testing the program under a wide variety of equipment and circumstances.  We do not believe this program to be dangerous to use.  However, if you are concerned about using software that hasn't been thoroughly tested, you should probably wait for the general release of version 3.
